WASHINGTON – Tuesday, October 15, 2024 – Republican Voters Against Trump and Future Forward (FF PAC) launched a new eight-figure ad campaign, featuring Rebecca, a former Trump voter from Jacksonville, FL, who will be voting for Kamala Harris this November. The ads will run nationally on broadcast, cable, streaming, and digitally across the battleground states starting Tuesday.
The 30-second spot, which you can watch here, opens with a clip of Trump promising tax cuts to his “rich as hell” donors. Rebecca responds: “I am not rich as hell. I work hard. I scrape to get by. Donald Trump wants to give tax breaks to billionaires, but Kamala Harris has plans to help us. She’s going to crack down on price gouging, and cut taxes for working people like me.” The ad ends with Rebecca saying: “I voted for Donald Trump before, but this time, I’m voting for Kamala.” The campaign also features 15-second and 6-second spots of Rebecca.
The ad was tested for its persuasion value in moving undecided voters to support Vice President Harris and moved all core segments, including independents and former Trump voters.
Using the voice of one of his former supporters, the advertising contrasts Harris’ opportunity economy with Trump’s plans to make his billionaire cronies richer in a second term.
“Donald Trump played a rich guy on TV, but his policies would be a disaster for the economy,” said Sarah Longwell, Executive Director of Republican Voters Against Trump. “The people he claims to stand for would be hit hardest by his economic agenda. In these critical final weeks, we are reminding these voters of what they stand to lose from a second Trump term, coming straight from one of his former supporters.”
“All kinds of voters are finding out about the two economic realities we could have in our future: one where Kamala Harris makes life more affordable or one where Donald Trump looks out for himself and the billionaires he cares about,” said Chauncey McLean, President of FF PAC. “A growing number of former Trump voters are ready to turn the page on his economic policies that only help a few instead of an agenda that works for working people.”
