Largest campaign to date will target swing voters in PA, MI, WI, AZ, and NE-2 with billboards and ads saying: “I’m a former Trump voter. I’m voting for Harris.”
WASHINGTON – Tuesday, September 3, 2024 – Republican Voters Against Trump launched a new $11.5 million swing state ad blitz — our largest campaign to date this cycle — featuring ads and billboards showcasing former Trump voters who will not support him this election.
The campaign will run through the end of the month in Pennsylvania ($4.5 million), Michigan ($3 million), Wisconsin ($2.2 million), Arizona ($1.5 million), and Nebraska’s Second Congressional District ($375,000). It will target the following key media markets: Pittsburgh, Harrisburg, and Philadelphia; Grand Rapids and Detroit; Madison and Milwaukee; Phoenix; as well as Nebraska’s second congressional district.
It includes this 30-second compilation ad featuring multiple former Trump voters talking about why they now support Harris. It also features several testimonial ads of these voters talking about the dangers of a second Trump administration. And it features 79 billboards showing real former Trump voters from critical swing states. You can view the billboards’ locations here.
In Pennsylvania, Michigan, Wisconsin, and Arizona, video ads will run on broadcast and cable TV, streaming platforms, and YouTube, alongside radio ads. In NE-02, video ads will run on streaming and YouTube platforms. Billboards are running in all of these states showing real voters with the message: “I’m a former Trump voter. I’m voting for Harris.”
“Donald Trump has destroyed the Republican Party,” said Sarah Longwell, Executive Director of Republican Voters Against Trump. “And every election cycle he drives more and more Republicans to vote for Democrats, because they believe Donald Trump and the GOP candidates who imitate him are unfit for office. We help elevate the voices of these disaffected Republicans and build a permission structure for many other traditional GOP voters to reject Donald Trump and his MAGA movement, even if it means voting for Democrats with whom they might have policy differences.”
This content has been tested for its persuasive value and was selected to appeal to a core constituency of voters in the swing states: conservative-leaning independents and Republicans who are still undecided. By reaching them with messengers who look and sound like them, we are helping to build a permission structure to broaden the coalition that ultimately delivered victory in the last election.
