“He really didn’t try to do anything when they were saying ‘hang Mike Pence.'”
“I’m Doug, I’m from Florida, and I’m a former Trump voter.
“There was an expectation that there would be a replacement on the Supreme Court, and being a conservative, I wanted a Republican in the White House to be able to nominate a conservative. I voted for Biden in 2020, first time in 50 years I’ve ever voted for a Democrat for president, the main reason I voted for Biden, was I simply did not want Trump in office again as president.
“After the 2020 election, I think Trump’s behavior was unbelievable. We didn’t have a peaceful transfer of power, that upset me. His behavior when the raid on the Capitol started and it took him three hours to finally tell his supporters to stop, and he really didn’t try to do anything when they were saying ‘hang Mike Pence,’ our vice president, [it] just was unbelievable to me how he acted.
“In good conscience, I cannot vote for Trump again, reluctantly I feel I will have to vote for Biden in 2024 simply to have my vote help keep Trump out of the White House.
“If I was to say something I like about Biden, I think is his demeanor, his maturity, he has experience in dealing with world leaders and issues, may not agree with a lot of his policies, but I think he brought some stabilization to the running of the government, even if I disagreed with some of the things he wants to do.”
