“The reason I cannot support Donald Trump again is because I have found that he has brought a meaner brand of politics to the country.
“This is not the Republican party I was raised in. It’s not the Republican party I have supported most of my life.
“I believe Trump is ultimately accountable for what took place on January 6th. I remember standing, watching my television on January 6th being actually appalled that the leader of the free world would stand there and encourage that kind of behavior.
“And the fact that so many of my Republican friends can look past that and act as though Trump did not have a responsible participation in that just amazes me. It leaves me speechless.
“The way that Trump talks about the military annoys me and offends me. And knowing that this fool got out of military service because he had his father pay someone to say that he had heels spurs is appalling.
“And his self-aggrandizing, knowing that he is a consummate narcissist, of course, he couldn’t provide respect where respect is due for people who have self-sacrificed, because he knows nothing about self-sacrifice. He has sacrificed nothing and he is willing to sacrifice everyone else for his own benefit.
“There is nothing greater than the sacrifice that someone would give to be able to serve their country and to call military servicemen suckers and losers is just a poor reflection of his own lack of character.
“In 2024, I will be voting for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz.”
