“ My name is James from Maryland. I’m a former Trump voter from 2016. However, I did not vote for him in 2020, and I look very forward to voting for Kamala Harris to be the next president of the United States in 2024.
“The reason why I will not be voting for Donald Trump again is honestly, I care about the democracy in the future of this country. Kamala Harris will protect our rights, both she’ll protect our voting rights, she’ll protect women’s rights to choose. Donald Trump won’t do any of those things. I mean, he’s even threatened that, hey, you know, this could be the last election you ever vote in.
“The first election I was ever able to vote in was in 1984. And at that time I voted for Ronald Reagan and I continued to vote for a Republican. In 2020, was the first election I ever voted for a Democrat. And, I was proud to do that in voting for Joe Biden and hopefully helping him win the election because, I’m very happy about what the job he’s been able to do and, you know, what can happen over the next four years as well with Kamala.
“They will ensure that we have a free and fair election and on a lot of issues, I do agree with them on, you know, women should have the absolute right to choose. And that’s not a right, that should ever have been taken away from them. So I support them probably on more issues than I do not.
“Even though, you know, I grew up as a Republican, that party doesn’t exist anymore.
“It’s either MAGA or it’s nothing. And that’s not what a Republican is. and it’s a MAGA a cult. It’s not a, you know, a full functioning political party anymore.
“JD Vance, let’s go back in history to 2016 when he called Donald Trump a threat to our democracy, okay. He’s only been in office as a senator for a year and a half. That’s all his political might that he’s ever held. He cannot hold a single true belief because he keeps backtracking on what he used to be and said, this is a guy that cannot be trusted and he will only do Trump’s bidding.
“And unlike Mike Pence in 2020, I have every reason to fear that this is somebody that won’t uphold the voter rights and make making sure that, you know, the votes that are counted are counted correctly. Very big fear of mine that he is just a talking point for Donald Trump and he doesn’t believe in anything moving forward.
“Harris-Walz, you have real people. I mean, look at her running mate that she picked. I mean, he was this high school teacher for 20 years. I mean, he served in the General Guard for 24 years. He is a very, comes across as a very likable, honest person who has worked hard his entire life.
“You know, to think about his trajectory of going from a high school social studies teacher working in the National Guard to the governor of Minnesota.
“The comparison between the two, you know, it’s really like good and evil.
“I mean, you’ve got good people that care about the American people, and the other party has a person running for the presidency of the United States for one reason, one reason only to keep himself out jail. He doesn’t care about you.”
