“The way that Trump treats other people is an issue for me.”

Video Transcript

“I’m Joel, I’m from Iowa, and I was a Trump voter when he first ran for president.

“I don’t feel that I can support Trump again because of some of the things that he’s been accused of and the way he treats other people. I just, I can’t do that. It’s not a wise thing to do.

“The way that Trump treats other people is an issue for me because if you divide people, which I think is what Mr. Trump’s been doing, it’s more division than it is pulling the country together.

“A second term with Mr. Trump would definitely, in my mind, have the potential to divide the country even further than what it is already divided.

“We live in a country that is… we compromise. We have a lot of different opinions and we are free to have our own opinion. So to capitalize on that particular fact, I think is something that the president of the United States needs to do. But my career has worked with the Department of Defense for 30 years, working with military members across different parts of the world, different parts of the United States. Working with military families. To have anyone put down a military member who has served their country and done the things they’ve done, put their life on the line and to call them those kinds of names such as sucker and loser and whatever it might be.

“It’s just not right.”
