“I think a second Trump term would be worse than the first.”
“I’m John, I live in Ohio, I voted for Trump in 2016. Voted for Trump in 2016 because I felt he could bring a change to Washington.
“He promised to drain the swamp, he promised to do a lot of things that I agreed with, strengthen the border, reduce corporate income taxes, thereby generating economic stimulus, creating jobs, attracting investment to the U.S. and that really resonated with me.
“The reason I didn’t vote for Donald Trump in 2020 was because after his term, 2016 to 2020, I realized that the antics that he displayed in his campaign weren’t just a shtick. It was really who he was. And so, the vitriol and the hate and the division that he sowed wasn’t gonna go away.
“Joe Biden was the first Democrat that I’ve ever voted for in my life, and I started voting in 1990. After the results of the 2020 election were announced, I was very disappointed in the way Donald Trump reacted. It was a very, it was a showing of poor sportsmanship, and it was a terrible reflection on democracy in general.
“This country prides itself on a peaceful transition of power, and that’s one of the great things that we have to show the world in terms of why- why should you adopt a democratic government? And for him to essentially say the election was stolen, stolen, and to destroy people’s faith in our election process, I thought was a terrible thing to do as an American.
“I think a second Trump term would be worse than the first. In the first term, he was learning his way around and I think he was really trying to do a good job, to a point. To the extent that his ego would let him, but a second term, he knows the game and he’s already indicated that he’s gonna go after people, you know, in a vindictive manner. Anybody that’s out for revenge or to use the presidency as a platform to get revenge on, on your enemies, your adversaries, that’s scary.
“Not only are you gonna have to deal with his divisiveness and the constant tweeting and the news coverage and the circus that’s gonna surround his presidency and make us a laughing stock in the world, but he’s probably not gonna deliver on a lot of those promises he’s making.
“I’m not gonna vote for Trump in November, and I haven’t decided who I’m gonna vote for, but I think that I don’t want Trump to win, and so I’ll probably have to vote for Biden. And I don’t think he’s the best candidate that our country could produce for president, but unfortunately, those are the options that we have.”
