“But would Donald Trump stop the violence? No, Donald Trump’s dereliction of duty was beyond imagination.”
“I’m Larry from Utah. I am a Republican. I believe in the grand old party of Abraham Lincoln and Ronald Reagan, but I do not believe Donald Trump won the last election. I feel that if I vote for Donald Trump in this election and sign my ballot is providing written evidence that I supported the actions of Donald Trump on January 6th.
“Nothing could be farther from the truth. If I voted for Donald Trump, I become complicit in all the violence that occurred that day, including the brutal, crushing, and beating of 130 police officers. Not to mention having blood on my hands for the five people who subsequently died. Can you imagine just sitting in the Oval Office and watching all this stuff on TV?
“My goodness. Every one of us sat and watched that live. You know what I’m talking about? But would Donald Trump stop the violence? No. Donald Trump’s dereliction of duty was beyond imagination, but it wasn’t simple. It wasn’t just like a cowardly soldier sitting in the bottom of a bunker, not willing to come out and fight.
“No. Donald Trump actually took delight in the brutality. Can you imagine him sitting there when having his chief of staff, congressmen, and other staff members begging him to stop the violence? But no, he had so much delight and that he waited for hours while our police officers were being brutalized. I for one cannot stand for that behavior, but it wasn’t just that it even got worse.
“After all of Trump’s mobsters were convicted and thrown in prison, he then called them patriots and hostages, and then it got worse. He recorded the Jan 6th anthem with them as a choir, and now at all of his rallies, he plays this Jan 6th anthem. Have you ever thought about how that Jan 6th anthem sounds to the 130 police officers who were beaten that day?
“How about to their families? And how should it make every citizen in the United States feel when they hear that anthem? I’ve got lots of friends who are Republicans. I live in an upper-income neighborhood that’s predominantly Republican. Often when I ask my Republican neighbors how they feel about Donald Trump, they shrug their shoulders and they say, well, and they say, you know, I don’t like the guy, but I like some of his policies. And I find that curious. And then as I inquire as to which policies they like, the only one they can truly say they like, is the fact they got a tax reduction. Yep. Donald Trump has purchased their loyalty through a tax package, and they have been willing to compromise their values for putting extra money in their pocket.
“They have been bought and sold by Trump. I for one, will not be bought by Trump. I am voting for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz. I believe they exhibit humanity. I believe they’re the type of leaders that can restore humanity to the United States. I encourage everyone to search deep within their hearts and ask themselves how they feel when they hear the Jan 6th anthem.
“And vote Democratic this time.”
