“I really didn’t appreciate JD Vance’s comments about ‘childless cat ladies.’ Not all of us have children, but that doesn’t make a woman lesser.”

“ So I’m Melanie and I voted for Trump in 2016, but in 2024 I’m voting for Kamala Harris. So I voted for Trump in 2016 against my better judgment. But when the pandemic hit that really showed me who he was. He outright lied, and we knew he was lying because every news station in the world was broadcasting how bad the pandemic was while he was saying it’s just a flu.

“So the way he handled it and the way his Republican friends handled it, I thought was just inhumane, heartless. I have a number of underlying conditions, and so I was terrified to even go to the store because I had no idea who might be in the store with me, infected. And I thought oh lord, I might be one of the ones on a ventilator if I’m not careful. So that really turned me against Trump.

“And then of course there was the big election lie. And I’ve never in my lifetime, I have just never seen a president refuse to accept the peaceful transfer of power. To me, that’s insane that he kept up the lie until he had so many people upset that they stormed the capitol on January 6th, and I was just appalled.

“To me, that’s treason. That’s outright treason. I don’t see how anybody could see it as anything else. Not to mention, they had a gallows and a noose waiting for Mike Pence. Who knows what could have happened had the crowd gotten a hold of Pence that day. That they turned on their own vice president because he wouldn’t illegally overturn the election. It’s insanity, it’s absolute insanity.

“I am all in for Kamala. I am all in for Kamala, I think she is smart, she’s articulate, and I like her positioning as the prosecutor against the felon. And, Trump’s decision to name JD Vance his vice president, has just made me double down on never voting for Trump ever, ever, ever again.

“I really didn’t appreciate JD Vance’s comments about childless cat ladies. Not all of us have children. But that doesn’t make a woman lesser. If she doesn’t have children, it doesn’t mean we don’t have a stake in the future.

“Just to be told, “Oh, well you don’t count because you didn’t bear children.” That’s insanity. It’s outright misogyny and I’m not going to vote for that. I’m not going to vote for him to take my voting rights away.

“I’m not gonna vote for another insurrection. I do think that we all have a duty to speak out because if we all kind of ignore politics as many people do, I mean it’s normal I think here in the United States. We’re only going to allow things to get worse.”
