“Hi, my name is Nancy. I’m a lifelong Oklahoman, and until four years ago, I was a lifelong Republican as well. In 2016, I unfortunately voted for Donald Trump, and it was the pandemic that really opened my eyes to just how dangerous he is for our country.
“A lot has happened in the last four years for me personally. The best thing is we have a new granddaughter.
“And this is not a world that I want for her. I want her to be able to make decisions about her own body. I don’t want her to be discriminated against because of her beautiful brown skin. I want her to have all the options and resources and opportunities that any child in America should have.
“And that won’t happen if the Republicans are in power for the next four years. So I’m not only voting for Kamala Harris for the sake of the country. I’m voting for Kamala Harris for the sake of my granddaughter.
“For the first time, I have hope. For the first time in the last eight years, I have hope that we can leave a world that is better than the one we have right now. That she can have the opportunities that any child in America should have, and that she can have a president who looks like her and that she will have the knowledge that she can achieve whatever she wants in her life.
“So I’ll be voting for Kamala Harris and for any other well, and for the foreseeable future, I’ll be voting Democrat in every election for her sake.”
