“It is just incredibly awful the way he’s treated veterans and yes, I’m a Navy veteran, so it is extremely disappointing.”
“ So my name is Nate. You know, I’ve lived in Maryland for quite some time now. You know, I’ve been a Republican most of my adult life.
“In fact I was in the Tea Party for four or five years. I campaigned for Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio, and I voted for Trump over Hillary in 2016. The biggest mistake of my life, right? I really didn’t investigate the policies and the issues, I was going on emotion. And just because I was a Republican, and I, you know, I decided that I wanted to learn more about policy and who was actually making a difference. So I started to dig in. But that’s kind of my, you know, basic story for myself.
“My views on how he’s treating veterans and there’s a lot more than that. But there’s four main reasons why I can’t vote for Trump. One is the way that he’s treated veterans and also for the lack of action for supporting veterans. And I’ll get into that in just a minute, but the other three bullets that I wanna talk about is he’s compromised his country through the classified documents case. His handling of the COVID-19 response and his denigration of Dr. Fauci and lifelong public servants, that has really made me angry. And of course who can forget the January 6th insurrection? There were people that were killed, you know, during the insurrection and they desecrated the Capitol. So I will never forgive that.
“But circling back around to the veterans, you know, I’m an active person with a Wounded Warriors project with the Veterans Workforce Development with State Department, and I like to ensure that veterans who get out in the military can find a second career and so forth. I didn’t set the bar too high for former President Trump on that. I thought at the very least, you know, don’t talk badly about veterans. I knew that he didn’t really pass any meaningful legislation for veterans.
“But of course, you know, the way he spoke to John McCain or about John McCain after he passed away even. I mean, there is like zero respect there for veterans, and suckers and losers and there’s so many examples when he was over there in France. It is just incredibly awful the way he’s treated veterans and yes, I’m a Navy veteran, so it is extremely disappointing.
“The classified documents case, you know, of course that hasn’t had a chance to occur yet, but we know that he’s compromised the country. He, you know, he’s probably sold intelligence or given intelligence, you know, to dictators around the world. You know, Mohammad bin Salman, you know, Putin, Kim Jong-Un, who knows?
“And you know, he has 91 criminal indictments against him. The E. Jean Carroll case, the New York fraud case, the election interference case. I mean, he has so many court cases against him, you know, literally he could be attending trials all the way until he passes, you know?
“I would just say, you know, do you want democracy? Do you want fascism? You know, so if you vote for Harris, we’ll get to live in another day, we’ll get to vote another day. We can argue about things. We can argue about fiscal policies and trade policies and so forth. Because, you know, at my core, I’m still somewhat of a fiscal conservative. I left the Republican party, but I’m, you know, still fiscal conservative. But I won’t be able to argue any of those policies under Trump ’cause it literally will be a dictatorship.
“So it is as simple as that.”
