“He obviously does not know what it means to sacrifice, to serve… because it’s always about him.”
“My name’s Pat, I’m from western North Carolina, and I voted for Trump twice and I will not vote for him again.
“The January 6th event… I was completely appalled. I understand there’s a difference between protesting and rioting, and what they did was rioting. I completely believe that Trump was responsible for the violence on January 6th. He called for it multiple times, they kept encouraging, prodding, saying, ‘we gotta fight, we gotta fight.’ But people showed up with guns, nooses, all kind of riot equipment because they knew what they were gonna do based on Trump’s suggestions.
“Project 2025 is… I know that the Republican Party is trying to deny it and they obviously can’t because their hand prints are all over it. Trump’s name is in it I think 300 times. I have not read all 900 pages, so the summaries I have read are just scary. They are completely scary. I was talking with somebody today about the fact that a pregnant woman with cancer can’t get chemo because it might hurt the baby. For a party that bases their premise on small government, this is government overreach. Unbelievable. I have three daughters and they’re trying to put women back into the 19th century.
“I don’t understand why any veteran would support Trump. I’m an Army veteran, I was an officer in air defense artillery, and as a veteran, I’m proud to do that. I’m proud to be who I am. My dad served, he was in the army, he was in World War II. He was in British D-Day, a lot of guys that he went over there with did not make it back. He made it back. He was messed up, but he made it back. To call those men who didn’t make it back suckers and losers is just… obviously, he has no idea what sacrifice is. When he went to Arlington and asked his generals what’s in it for them… he obviously does not know what it means to sacrifice, to serve, to give of yourself, because it’s always about him. It’s not about our country. He doesn’t care about our country, and it’s obvious. And the way he treats veterans, the way he speaks about them, especially if they’re wounded, he does not want to be seen with a wounded veteran. It’s mind blowing.
“I am voting for Kamala Harris this year. I have never in my… I’m 66 years old, I voted from the time I turned 18. I have never voted for a Democrat president. This year I’ve contributed money to the Harris campaign. I contributed money down ballot which I have never done, I really didn’t care. I care this time. I care enough that I’m dipping into my wallet, which was kind of against my principles at some point.”
