“My name is Scott Taylor and I’m a former Trump supporter, and I’m from the state of North Carolina. I supported Donald Trump in the past because I thought that he was gonna bring about a change and that there would be improvements in the way in which our government was working.

“I found out after the first presidency of Donald Trump, that that turned out to be not true. And actually, I believe that things actually got worse under Donald Trump as president of the United States.

“Trump after the first presidency demonstrated what I perceived to be a complete disregard for the rule of law or the orderly process. I think he demonstrated that during the January 6th events. And to me it wasn’t surprising. When I initially voted for Donald Trump, I anticipated he would likely be impeached ’cause it was my opinion at that time that he was someone who simply couldn’t help himself.

“I think it’s indicative of Donald Trump … His view on what happened on January 6th is pretty much consistent with his approach that he can do anything as the President of the United States, such as targeting a political rival for assassination or shooting someone on the street. I think he has the very narcissistic approach to the presidency and believes that whatever he says and whatever he believes should be true and therefore he, in his mind I believe, he thinks that he can pardon people that participated in things that were clearly wrong and against the country’s best interest.

“I think it’s consistent with the fact that he’s not interested in promoting what’s in the United States’ best interest. He’s more interested in promoting what’s in Donald Trump’s best interest. And so it’s not surprising to me at all that he has that kind of attitude toward the far-right extremists that were involved in January 6th, and I think that he’s trying to reach out to those people and send a message and encourage more insurrection, which is likely what’s gonna happen if Trump were to be reelected.

“I am planning to vote in 2024. At this time, I’m not very happy with the choices that have been made for me. I think we should have more than two choices. I think the majority of the population also feels that way. I think the majority of the population believes that neither of the two candidates are necessarily fit for office, but it comes down to voting for a choice of two evils. And I don’t intend to vote for Donald Trump again. If I have to, I will for Joe Biden.”
