“I feel the Republican party has really lost its way.”

Video Transcript

“Hi, my name is Ursula and I am an Arizona resident, living down near the southern border. And in 2016 I voted for Donald Trump after having spent 30 years voting for Republicans. And in 2024, I am very enthusiastically going to be voting for Kamala Harris.

“I was shocked at how common it was for Trump to bully people and use language to just tear people down. Call people ugly names, be crude.

“His language towards women was always extremely disheartening.

“I struggle with Donald Trump. Probably the number one thing is his way of being.

“To me, it’s just a no-brainer. Like why would anybody want a leader who acts the way he does as their leader to represent our country? And then in addition to that he is a felon. So that’s a big problem I’ve seen. You know, I’ve been following the court cases that he has been indicted in, these things are really deeply concerning to me, particularly the fact that, you know, there’s been a lot of rhetoric around the idea that Joe Biden has somehow, you know, weaponize the justice department against him. But if you understand how our system works, there’s the grand jury of regular people who made the decision that there was enough evidence to demonstrate that Donald Trump is guilty of all of these crimes that they are now indicting him for. So that to me is a huge red flag.

“The fact that he’s been civilly convicted of sexual assault is a huge problem for me as a woman realizing. How much we’ve had to fight for safety for our bodies in this country. I’m also very concerned about this fact. That he flip-flops back and forth according to what he thinks people want to hear.

“So, you know, he has said how proud he is that he got Roe v. Wade overturned and you know, now he’s saying he’s gonna be great for women and their reproductive rights. And I just, I don’t believe him. I think, you know, he as a billionaire is gonna be able to do whatever he wants to do and women in his life will be able to do whatever they want to do, and the rest of the citizens are gonna be stuck with whatever crazy laws the legislatures make.

“And I have a problem with that.

“My final decision at this point is that I will be voting for Kamala Harris, and I’m excited to support the Democratic ticket for the foreseeable future as I feel the Republican party has really lost its way.”
