“Donald Trump has proven time and time again that he should be nowhere near the Oval Office.”
“Hi, I’m Mark. I’m from Connecticut. I’m a former Trump voter, and I’ll be supporting Kamala Harris in this election.
“Not only was I a Republican, I was a conservative Republican. And very active in promoting Republican ideals to everyone I could talk to. So there’s very, there’s hardly a Republican that’s more Republican than I was.
“I actually voted for Trump in 2016. The alternative in Hillary Clinton was just not palatable to me. I had reservations about Donald Trump. I’m from the New York area. I know people that know Donald Trump, so I’m only two people removed from Donald Trump, and I have heard personal stories of what a bad person he is.
“Nevertheless, because of his business background, and I was in real estate in a previous career, decided to vote for him.
“And then, after January 6th, that completely confirmed that this person should never get close to the presidency again.
“That’s probably the biggest aspect, and it’s one you’ll hear from a lot of people who had served with him in the administration.
“They came in thinking, hey, this guy, hope, you know, theoretically he was good in business. You know, he is gonna look out for America. And when they got on the inside, they realized all he really cared about was Donald Trump. He didn’t care about the United States, he didn’t care about the people. He cared about Donald Trump.
“They saw the real Donald Trump, not the, you know, the makeup-orange man that goes in front of the cameras, and they could not support him for another term.
“This is not the Republican party that we grew up with. I mean, you look at Geoff Duncan the Lieutenant Governor from Georgia. So eloquent, so well put where he states, this is not the Republican party that I grew up with, and I cannot support Donald Trump and this Republican party, you know not just Donald Trump, but this Republican party.
“And I fully agree with that. So I don’t think it’s a betrayal of a Republican. It’s a betrayal of the party itself turning into the party of Trump. You know, with his niece in there now as the chair. It’s just absurd. And I’m hopeful at some point we can reclaim it and that there’ll be two viable parties again in this country.
“Because right now there’s really only one viable traditional party. And that’s the Democrat party, the Republican party, to my mind, is an extremist cult. And many Republicans have stated this. It is about the character. It is about the person who we hold to be the most powerful person in the world as President of the United States. It’s about trusting that person to do the right thing for the country and for the world, not for themselves. And Donald Trump has proven time and time again that he should be nowhere near the Oval Office because he cares about nothing except for himself.
“So to me, this is about democracy. This is about the survival of America as it is.
“I mean, this guy wants to be an authoritarian dictator himself. So to me, policies, I understand policy differences. I get it. I’ve been there. I still have policy differences in some respects with Democrats and with Kamala Harris. But the character and the trustworthiness, and the intelligence, quite frankly of Kamala Harris versus Donald Trump is just not comparable.
“And to me it is clear, black and white that you cannot trust Donald Trump the person, let alone the policy, to be running the White House and running the country.
“And to me the choice is clear, and that’s Kamala Harris.”
