“America is based on certain principles. Donald Trump does not have any of those principles or values as a person.”
“My name’s Alan, I’m from Hoover, Alabama, which is a suburb of Birmingham. I voted for Trump in 2016, did not vote for him in 2020, and I cannot vote for Donald Trump in 2024. He’s a narcissist. He’s a pig. He thinks he’s right and everybody else is wrong, and he’s just a devil of a person. He is not a likable person. And he is not presidential in any way, shape, form, or fashion. And America needs a president who can stand on the world stage that we can be proud of, and there’s nothing that I can be proud of of Donald Trump.
“Donald Trump’s treatment of women, going back as far as I know, is appalling. He speaks about women in very degrading fashions. Trump has, on numerous occasions, committed adultery, and that’s just not someone I want in the White House. Look, I didn’t like what Bill Clinton did during his presidency, and at the time I felt like, well, you know, it’s a personal matter, and maybe it was, but in this case, Donald Trump’s just… I think that he is horrible to women, and I’ve got a wife and three daughters, and I refuse to support him in any way.
“Donald Trump’s actions are anything but presidential. He is degrading to everyone other than himself because of course he’s right and the world is wrong, and he’s just appalling as a person. He’s not someone that I like, that I can trust in a presidential way whatsoever.
“Donald Trump said the right things leading up to 2016, after that, he went so far right that he became somewhere on an island beyond what the Republican Party stood for, and I cannot support Donald Trump ever again.
“Donald Trump has turned the Republican party into, rather than a positive movement, a party that hates anything democratic. So what Trump has done is rather than reaching out across the aisle, shaking hands, which is what Reagan did, is what both Bushes did and I don’t know what the man has done. He tried to reverse the government and steal an election. Are you kidding me? That’s not something a president does. Donald Trump is a pig, with a capital P, and I don’t know how else to describe him. He’s not a trusted person and he’s destroyed the Republican Party.
“The Republican party has gotten to the point now where, I hate to say this, but it’s almost become, in certain aspects, the Trump supporters of the Republican Party, are a cult. They don’t care about any horrible things this man has done or does, and they still support him. That’s not Republican the way I was raised at all, and my first Republican, I voted for the first time in 1980 and so, you know, how do you go back and compare Trump to Reagan? Are you kidding me? I mean, Reagan was a man, he was elegant in his speech, and Trump is anything but all of those things.
“Donald Trump’s reaction to losing the election and the January 6th comments and speech and rhetoric that he made, appalled me as a US citizen. It is so undemocratic of him and you kind of knew what was gonna happen because when Trump was asked prior to it, if he would accept the election results, he never would answer the question because he was leading up to the fact that he knew he was gonna lose. And what did Trump do? Denied that he lost. Everybody lied. Everybody’s a, you know, that’s his biggest thing, he makes up this hyperbole of comments that you just shake your head at, because he’s such an idiot that… I don’t know, Trump appalled me.
“The January 6th issue appalled me. It still appalls me. America is based on certain principles. Donald Trump does not have any of those principles or values as a person, so he’s unsupportable, and how anyone can support him is beyond me.”
