“I think when Trump says that he will be a dictator on day one, I believe that’s what he will be.”
“My name’s Mark. I live in New Jersey, and in 2016 I voted for Trump. In hindsight though he is not the right person to run this country. The two federal indictments against Trump, one trying to overturn the election, and also the documents case are both troubling to me because one, if he cannot be trusted with highly sensitive and classified information, how in the world can we trust him being president again?
“I saw firsthand on TV what took place on January 6th, 2021, and I could not believe that I was living in a country that was actually trying to be overthrown and taken from the American voters. So I was very concerned that nothing was being done by the White House or by Trump, that he just seemed to be sitting back and waiting for something to happen. It really troubled me that people were chanting hang Mike Pence and also chanting, you know, to do harm to Nancy Pelosi and other, democratic leaders in the House and the Senate because there’s no place for that in the American democracy personally.
“I think when Trump says that he will be a dictator on day one, I believe that’s what he will be. At the end of four years, he will not relinquish control of the presidency. I believe that he will place people that are loyalists in high ranking positions that will support him, and we will basically have a dictatorship for our country. But Trump, I believe, loves dictators because they exude power and Trump is power hungry. I think that’s his way of establishing himself as a strong leader.
“Biden was the first democratic candidate I have ever voted for in a national election. Considering who he is running against I have no qualms about voting for Biden again in 2024, so I’m going vote for Biden and I’ll be glad to do it.”
