“My name is Andrew. I live in North Carolina. I did vote for Trump in 2016. I did not vote for him in 2020 and I will not vote again for him in 2024. I just saw what happened during his first term. It created a lot of fear in me about the future of the country, what might happen and especially after January 6th, I felt like he was really causing, I’ll use the word insurrection, which I felt was very dangerous to the democracy of the country.

“I think he makes decisions in isolation without advice from people around him, or he ignores that advice, or he drives advisors away. I mean, there’s a litany of people that have left his side over the years and almost to a person they’ve all turned against him as they’ve left because they’ve seen what’s happened on the inside and I don’t think, as most presidents have done in the past where they surround themselves with a group of advisors. I think Lincoln’s a great example. President Lincoln, he surrounded himself with even people that didn’t agree with him and he didn’t agree with, but yet he honored their advice and accepted it and used it. Where I think Trump just just does whatever he wants to do. I don’t think he thinks through decisions carefully. I think he makes decisions on the fly very quickly, or he has ideas already formed in his head that he uses to drive his decisions and he’s not open to other decisions. He is not to compromise with others. Trump’s become a one person show which if you just look at history across the world, that always leads to disaster. And then he’s ingratiated himself to Kim Jong-Un in North Korea and Putin, he acts like he his best friend. I think Putin’s just laughing all the way. He’s ingratiated himself to these people that are very dangerous.

“I think Trump’s main driving force is revenge and retribution. You see it in his business dealings over the years. All you have to do is watch the show, The Apprentice, we watched that 10 or 15 years ago and that’s what he’s all about. It’s always about revenge. It’s always about competition. Driving people against one another, pitting people against one another. Even during his first term, he did not have a history of working well with other party members. There was no compromise. There’s just a lack of compromise. You can see he’s already even tried to weasel his way into legislative activities now in the last 6 months or 12 months when he’s not in elected position. He’s hoisted his power on the leadership of the Republican party. I mean, you can see with Trump’s driving out McDaniel as the RNC chair tells me he has total control of the party. It’s almost like in Russia, the former Soviet Union, where the party leader was also the leader of the country. That’s what’s happened here. He has total control of the party.”
