I joined the party because I believed it was the party of small government, individual freedom, personal responsibility, and sensible policies. I voted for Donald Trump in 2016 despite my serious misgivings about him, because the alternative was Hillary Clinton, who I thought was somewhat worse.
“I grew up in New York and I’ve known about Donald Trump for decades, and he has always had a reputation as a con man, a dishonest, immoral person. Donald Trump has made it very clear that his second administration would be about revenge and retribution against anybody he thinks is wronged him.
“He’s talking about having the FCC revoke the broadcasting licenses of any outlet or news network that ever said anything he didn’t like about him, he’s talked about pulling us out of NATO, about encouraging Russia to attack NATO countries if they’re not spending whatever he thinks they should be spending, Trump seems to think that NATO is some kind of protection racket. Like, you know, ‘pay up or something might happen to this lovely grocery store you have here.’ That’s not how NATO works. You know, he clearly knows nothing about history.
“At least with Biden, I’ve seen and have a clear idea of what he’s going to do going forward. I may not agree with all of it, but at least I know where he stands. I will vote for Joe Biden. It’ll be the first time in my life I voted for a Democrat for president, but I absolutely will not vote for Donald Trump.”
